BREAKING THE SILENCE
TEACHING GIRLS TO KNOW AND LOVE THEIR BODIES

"My sacred daughter, you were created from Divine Love. Love, respect, and kindness live within you. Invite the light of these qualities into your words, thoughts, and actions. Let the light of your heart shine into how you treat yourself and others. This will help you love yourself and have healthy relationships with other kids and adults. You will remember Me in this space of love."
ā
My Body is Sacred is a groundbreaking and enlightening book for young girls, designed to educate and inspire as the reader journeys alongside four girls and their tender and educational conversations with Divine Love.
The Divine is described in a way that, irrespective of one's affiliations, they can connect to the unifying thread of Love that is woven through religion, spirituality, and nature. The illustrations are imbued with a beauty not usually seen in health education books. In these stories, the girls learn how to care for and love themselves, empowered with a solid foundation of health literacy.
ā
The book also explores the significance of prayer and meditation, highlighting that communication with Divine Love is open and accessible. Furthermore, the book covers essential anatomical knowledge while explaining that every part of a girl's body is sacred. It also addresses foundational health behaviors such as hygiene practices, a balanced diet, regular exercise, healthy relationships, effective communication, healthy boundaries, and safety.
āIf you have read the CDC’s teen health statistics recently, you know that 57% of girls report that they felt persistently sad or hopeless, the highest level reported in the past decade. In addition, 30% seriously considered attempting suicide, and 18% experienced sexual violence in the last year.
ā
The Wiley Handbook of Eating Disorders reports that 53% of girls are "unhappy with their bodies." This number grows to 78% by the time girls reach 17. Reversing these trends is imperative for both today’s and tomorrow’s teens.
ā
This book is an essential ingredient in the world where a girl can navigate life tethered to the knowledge that her body is strong, her mind is brilliant, her heart is wise, and her spirit is Love.ā
